    The Department of Biochemistry at UMMC is comprised of eight regular faculty members, six members with joint appointments from the Cancer Institute, and four adjunction faculty members from the Cancer Institute, Nursing and Neurology. We currently have 23 graduate students in our program.

    Our research interests focus on cancer, but also include the thermodynamics and hydrodynamics of protein-protein interactions, drug delivery, histone structure and function, Cajal bodies and RNA processing, cytochrome oxidase and mitochondrial function, Chlamydomonas and ciliary function.
