  • Admission Requirements

    In addition to the admission standards of the institution and the general admission requirements of the School of Health Related Professions, candidates seeking admission to the Cytotechnology program, must:

    • Have completed a minimum of 90 semester hours of academic credit from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning;
    • Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale;
    • Complete an interview;
    • Have successfully completed (a grade of C or better) the following minimum prerequisite requirements.

    Admitted students will be required at the time of registration to provide written confirmation of Hepatitis B vaccination or that they have begun the Hepatitis B vaccination series. Students are responsible for vaccination expenses.

    Course choices

    * Social and behavioral sciences include courses such as anthropology, economics, political science, psychology or sociology.

    ** Humanities and fine arts include courses such as art history, dance, history, modern languages, music, philosophy, religion or theatre.

    *** Natural sciences include courses such as general biology, anatomy and physiology, genetics, histology, microbiology and zoology; general chemistry, organic chemistry and biochemistry; and physics. Science survey courses and science courses designed for non-majors are not acceptable for transfer credit.
