    Anderson receives scholarship

    Benjamin Anderson, DDS, has been selected as the first recipient of the Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery and Pathology scholarship. Dr. Anderson attends the University of Mississippi School of Medicine.

    The scholarship was established and funded this year by the faculty of the Department of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery and Pathology at the UMMC School of Dentistry. It is awarded to deserving members of the department's six-year residency program to defray the expenses of medical education.

    Department adds two residency positions

    The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has been granted approval for two residency positions in a post graduate residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery by the Council on Accreditation of the American Dental Association.

    The department, with the help of the UMMC School of Dentistry, Univeristy of Mississippi and the University Hospitals and Clinics, has been working to create this inaugural program.
