Instructor Orientation

Any UMMC faculty or senior resident who has privileges to perform a certain procedure may be an MASSEC instructor after instructor orientation by the director.

Instructor orientation includes the following:

• Role designation and review of role description.
• Orientation on skill training equipment and/or patient simulators.
• Hands-on rehearsal of learning modules in the skill lab or simulation cases on the patient simulator.
• Review of instructor notes for the module or case.
• Trainee evaluation and debriefing for the module or case.
