Teaching in Medical Education

Mission of Mercy
  • For Faculty

The University of Mississippi Medical Center's Division of Academic Affairs is offering a new program for UMMC faculty, Teaching in Medical Education (TIME): For Faculty. This nine-session series is designed to enhance curriculum development and presentation skills of UMMC faculty.

The program will consist of nine sessions, one per month (3rd Thursdays at noon) from September to May. The sessions will be presented live, then recorded and posted on Blackboard. Each session will conclude with a homework assignment. Due to the design of the program, once participants complete all sessions (in person or video) and complete all homework assignments during the course of the year, they will have: 1) created a new course or other type of teaching opportunity; or 2) enhanced an existing course or teaching opportunity. Also, those who complete all requirements will receive a certificate of completion suitable for incorporation into a professional portfolio. Registration is required and will end Oct. 4, 2012, for the 2012-13 series.

Please direct all questions to Dr. Natalie W. Gaughf or Dr. Mitzi R. Norris, (601) 815-4233.
