  • Chapel and Worship

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." - Ecclesiastes 3:1

The University Hospital chapel is located in the upper lobby at the main hospital entrance. The chapel is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and Sundays for worship.

The quiet worship room located across from the chapel is open at all times. All UMMC patients and their families, staff, faculty, students and visitors of all faiths are invited to use the chapel and quiet worship room for prayer, worship, and reflection.

The chapel was made possible through the generous donations of many people in the UMMC community and the wider communities of Jackson and Mississippi. The four stained glass panels are the work of local artist Andy Young. They were inspired in part by the biblical passage Ecclesiastes 3:1. The pulpit, alter/table, chair and baptismal font were made from local woods by artist Fletcher Cox.
