Message from the Chancellor
As the state's population ages, one of the conditions that most concerns us is Alzheimer's disease. Fighting Alzheimer's and related forms of dementia will become an increasingly important part of the University of Mississippi Medical Center's commitment in the years ahead.

Dr. Dan Jones
Fortunately, we've got leadership for that fight already in place.
Over the last 20 years, Dr. Tom Mosley, director of the UMMC MIND Center, has established a reputation as one of the nation's leading experts on cognitive decline.
While we're proud of those accomplishments, we want to do more.
With the Memory Impairment and Neurodegenerative Dementia (MIND) Research Center, we plan to build on that expertise. We plan to create a state-of-the-art "center of excellence" dedicated to Alzheimer's and dementia research. To that end, we will recruit a team of the country's best and brightest neuroscientists to Mississippi.
Daniel W. Jones. MD
