  • Introduction

    The Department of Payroll processes the payroll checks for all University of Mississippi Medical Center employees. This site is to inform and instruct each department of the correct procedures for submitting information to the Payroll Office.

    All employees at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) are paid on a bi-weekly (every other week) schedule. A biweekly employee is paid by the hour for the hours worked or leave time used in a two-week period.

    The Payroll Office pays employees according to information processed by he Human Resources Department. Any questions about hiring a new employee or setting up payroll deductions should be directed to Human Resources.

    Each department is responsible for entering and submitting the hours worked and leave taken by its non-exempt bi-weekly employees to the Payroll Office. The hours worked are submitted to the Payroll Office either through Kronos Desktop or Kronos Time clocks. Each department also records non-worked time for its salaried exempt employees through the Exception Leave Entry System.
